Two simultaneous events will be honoring front-line workers in the local community Tuesday afternoon.
First, the Kansas Air National Guard’s 190th air refueling wing is scheduled to perform an Operation Kansas Strong flyover across four Kansas cities beginning with Emporia at 1 pm. The current flight path will see the aircraft pass over the Emporia Police Department, downtown Emporia and Newman Regional Health before moving on to Manhattan, Topeka and finally Lawerence.
At the same time, Newman Regional Health will be honoring local and surrounding county front line workers with a special parade beginning at the hospital on West 12th Avenue and concluding at 12th and Chestnut. Newman has extended an invitation to all fire departments, ambulances, law enforcement, the Kansas Highway Patrol and wildlife and parks officials in the local and surrounding communities.
