Flint Hills Technical College continued to adapt to the “new normal” brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic Saturday to honor their 2020 spring graduates.
A virtual graduation ceremony was held on the college’s Facebook page Saturday morning and featured slides of each graduate containing their name, photo, hometown, degree and honors. FHTC President Dr. Dean Hollenbeck offered remarks to the graduating class.
Hollenbeck commended the graduates for not only attaining their degrees but for doing so in the midst of global crisis which drastically altered their educational journeys over the past few months.
A total of 242 students received their degrees as part of the 2020 spring class.
Along with the virtual ceremony, the college has been posting submitted photos of graduates and congratulatory messages from teachers and staff on their social media for the past week. Photos of graduates as well as a full replay of the ceremony are available on the FHTC Facebook page.
A replay of the ceremony will be aired at 2 pm on Valunet Fiber Channel 3 Sunday.
