If you went to the Lake of the Ozarks at any point during the Memorial Day weekend, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment has a request for you: please quarantine yourself for two weeks.
The KDHE guidance comes after large crowds were reported at the lake with no protective measures being followed. Health Secretary Lee Norman called that behavior “reckless” and said it “risks setting our community back substantially for the progress we’ve already made in slowing the spread of COVID-19.” Norman says the two-week self-quarantine protects neighbors, co-workers and family members.
Lake of the Ozarks is not currently on the state’s quarantine list. More information is online at www.kdheks.gov/coronavirus.
