There is now an urban and small stream flood advisory for Lyon, northern Coffey, Osage and Wabaunsee counties until 11 am.
As of 8 am, the KVOE studios received 0.85 inches of rainfall since midnight and 2.45 inches of rain since Friday. The total at the Emporia Municipal Airport from Tuesday is 0.52 inches. The National Weather Service expects up to 1.5 inches of more rainfall through at least Tuesday afternoon.
A flash flood watch continues for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties until 7 pm.

6 am Tuesday: Flash flood watches ongoing for Lyon, most surrounding counties until 7 pm
Rain chances could come down by mid-afternoon Tuesday, but not before the prospect of moderate to heavy rainfall across much of the KVOE listening area.
Flash flood watches continue for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties until 7 pm. The National Weather Service expects up to 2 inches of rainfall by evening, although most of the rain could be done by mid-afternoon if not sooner. The KVOE studios had 0.45 inches of rain early Tuesday, while the Emporia Municipal Airport has 0.34 inches of rain.
There was a similar forecast Monday, but Lyon County totals were much lighter. The KVOE studios had 0.20 inches until 7 pm, while the Emporia Municipal Airport had 0.23 inches through the day, Neosho Rapids had 0.40 inches and Allen had 0.50 inches.
TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says several factors have led to our extended rain chances the last few days and will keep giving us at least some rain chances into Thursday.
Most area rivers are near their normal levels, and only one area gauge is in a flood warning. The Salt Creek near Lyndon is in a warning until Wednesday morning. It should go above the 10-foot flood stage by late Tuesday morning, rise to 13.6 feet Tuesday afternoon and go below flood stage Tuesday evening.
Two Lyon County roads, 150 between N and P and K-7 between 65 and 70, were closed Friday due to heavy rainfall. Four other roads have now been closed for nearly 10 days due to flooding earlier in May:
*Road 130 between Roads F5 and G
*Road 180 between Roads S and T
*Road C-3 between Roads 300 and 307
*Road U between Roads 155 and 170
