(esu) Emporia State Athletics will be holding a Virtual Freedom 5K run/walk in July.
With the loss of the annual fund raising golf tournament and auction Emporia State needs a way to raise funds for the athletic department. Assistant Director for Athletic Development Jason Santangelo said they came up with Virtual Freedom 5K.
The 5K run/walk can be completed anytime between July 3rd and July 5th.
You can run or walk the 5K ,or 3.1 miles, on your favorite course, trail, neighborhood loop or treadmill. Take a selfie while completing the 5K and post on your social media using the hastag #esu5k.
Santangelo said there are prize packages available to win.
The entry fee is $25 dollars with discounts for families or groups of 4 or more, a 5K t-shirt is included.
