At least four people were taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment after a two-vehicle crash in central Emporia on Tuesday.
A westbound SUV on Ninth collided with a southbound car on East shortly after 3 pm. Emporia Fire Capt. Tony Fuller says three people in the car were taken to Newman Regional Health, with an injured child going to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City, Missouri, for additional treatment.
A child in the SUV was also taken to Newman Regional Health.
The final number of patients is unclear with a possibility at least one person may go to the hospital by private vehicle. Emporia Police have not given further details about the wreck.
