Greenwood County Health Department announced Friday evening the results of a mass testing conducted at Eureka Nursing Center on Wednesday, May 27th. 108 tests were completed and all returned negative.
After an employee of the nursing center tested positive it was recommended by Kansas Department of Health and Environment that all residents and staff be tested. Greenwood County Health Officer Vicki Lindsey-Ross in a released statement credits the negative test results to the policies of Eureka Nursing Center which enacted health screening and personal protective equipment procedures at the beginning of the COVID-19 event in March.
Greenwood County conducted 128 tests since Wednesday. There were 7 positive tests reported since Wednesday, one of the positive test belongs to a resident of another county.
Chase County is reporting that the active case they were reporting actually belongs in Lyon County and are reporting no active cases.
