Greenwood County is moving ahead with its coronavirus recovery plan faster than originally expected.
County commissioners voted unanimously to reopen the county with no restrictions effective Monday, June 1, despite seven new cases over the past week. Commissioners say the current response is adequate to protect the public.
Greenwood County had been following a modified version of Governor Laura Kelly’s Phase 2 for COVID-19 recovery. The County Commission had expected to make an adjustment next Monday.
