The US Attorney’s Office says the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office is receiving money to hire officers.
The nearly $225,000 grant is part of the US Department of Justice COPS, or Community Oriented Policing Services program. Wabaunsee County has not said how many officers can be hired with the new grant funding.
The Wabaunsee County grant is part of a $400 million grant disbursement nationwide.
