Major League Soccer avoided a lockout by reaching a new labor deal with players.
Details haven’t been released, but sources say players will take a 7.5 percent pay cut and there will be a $5 million cap on performance bonuses at both the individual and team performances. Players will have a smaller share of media rights fees in 2023 but that will be restored in 2024.
MLS is now planning to return to play with a tournament later this year. Details on that are pending.
