Emporia and Lyon County continue accepting comments on the current zoning regulations process, even though the comment period has ended for the third draft.
County Zoning and Floodplain Administrator Sam Seeley says comments about the overall plan and process can take place during city and county meetings through Aug. 12, including commission meetings and zoning board meetings. Three meetings in specific have been highlighted:
*The Lyon County Planning and Appeals Board meeting July 8 at the Lyon County Courthouse Annex will feature discussions about comments and changes to the current draft.
*The Planning and Appeals Board meeting Aug. 12, meanwhile, will involve a public hearing on the proposed zoning regulations.
*The County Commission action meeting Aug. 26 will see commissioners consider the Planning and Appeals Board’s recommendations for the document.
