A Council Grove man suffered suspected serious injuries after his motorcycle was rear-ended at a highway junction in Dickinson County over the weekend.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the wreck happened around 1:15 pm Sunday at the junction of US Highways 56 and 77 in Herington. Troopers say 40-year-old Mark Brown of Council Grove and 58-year-old Robert Bartholic of Ogden were both driving motorcycles and had stopped at the intersection. A pickup driven by 87-year-old Raul Martinez of Chase apparently failed to stop at a posted sign and rear-ended both motorcycles.
Brown was taken to Memorial Hospital in Abilene, while Bartholic was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Neither were wearing helmets. Martinez was not hurt.
