A gas leak developed in central Emporia after a plumbing crew inadvertently struck a gas line Wednesday afternoon.
Emporia Fire Crews responded to 2022 Park Avenue shortly before 4 pm Wednesday for a reported gas leak. According to Batallion Chief Eron Steinlage, the leak developed after a Rotor-Rooter crew struck the line while searching for a sewer line.
Kansas Gas shut off the service to the line and repaired the damage. No injuries were reported.
