Work continues on a water main repair in west Emporia.
A Public Works crew has been working to locate and patch a leak that developed on Prairie Street just south of 18th. Department director Dean Grant has said the leak area does not affect the line that was replaced during a massive water main break in 2017.
Traffic on Prairie Street has been detoured around the work zone and will likely be re-routed until late afternoon.
Separately, the city has announced water line work on another street this week. West 15th will be closed between Garfield and Lincoln from 7 am to 3:30 pm Thursday. No detour route has been announced.
