A Presbyterian Manor employee is in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.
Presbyterian Manor was notified of the positive case Friday morning according to a news release from the retirement home. The employee was one of 37 individuals tested at the campus earlier in the week.
25 results are still pending from that round of testing. Following the announcement of the positive case, the Lyon County Health Department conducted additional testing of 107 employees and residents Friday.
Presbyterian Manor infection preventionist and vice president for health and wellness Jeanne Gerstenkorn says via the aforementioned news release, “the safety of our residents and staff members remains our top priority.”
Presbyterian Manor says all individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will remain in quarantine until they are cleared of the virus per CDC guidelines. Once employees return to work Presbyterian Manor will follow all CDC recommendations related to work practices and restrictions.
In the meantime, Presbyterian Manor is encouraging all employees to continue following best health practices such as including washing hands, wearing a mask and not reporting to work if they are sick or feeling ill.
