The Emporia Seniors dropped their first game of the season 3-2 to the Topeka Scrappers before picking up a 7-6 win over the Topeka Bruins Saturday.
Emporia opened the scoring in the first inning of game 1 thanks to a sacrifice fly ball by Beau Baumgardner.
The score was tied at two heading into the bottom of the sixth inning before Topeka managed to score a single run and clinch the win.
In their second game of the day, Emporia would come from behind late to clinch their fourth win of the season over the Topeka Bruins 7-6.
Emporia would enter the bottom of the fifth trailing by one run before Jace Stewart scored off a wild pitch and Camden Kirmer doubled in two runs giving Emporia a 7-5 lead. Topeka came within one run of tying the game with a single in the top of the sixth but was never able to regain the lead.
Emporia now improves to 4-1 on the season and will be back in action Sunday to close out the Topeka Seaman Tournament.
