One man has been arrested after a reported shooting incident early Friday.
Emporia Police Capt. Dave DeVries says Friday afternoon’s arrest of 28-year-old Edgar G Gonzalez followed an argument at 1213 Beverly where a 35-year-old woman was shot. The woman was taken to Newman Regional Health by private vehicle, where officers reported and started investigating.
DeVries says people at the scene of the alleged shooting were interviewed before Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery.
Formal charges are pending.
