Monday is a big day for Emporia High athletes and Emporia State football players.
The Emporia High Summer Strength and conditioning program began.
Seniors worked out between 6-7:15 am. Emporia High Football Coach Corby Milleson said it was good be back with the students.

The Juniors worked out from 7:45-9 am.
The Sophomores worked out from 9:30-10:45 am.
The Freshmen worked out between 11:15 am-12:30 pm.
The workouts are taking place on the turf field at Emporia High School.
They will take place Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

A group of 60 Emporia State football players can return to campus to begin workouts Monday.
Emporia State Strength and conditioning coach Danny Goodman on KVOE Monday Morning Quarterback said each athlete will be tested today before starting workouts.
Emporia State Head Coach Garin Higgins, also on Monday Morning quarterback, said he would like to see everyone have the same schedule.
Each student athlete will be tested for COVID-19 before being cleared to participate in workouts.
Conditioning will begin outside on Jones Field at Welch Stadium and Witten Track before moving inside to the Emporia State Athletics Weight Room.
