There may be a push to end COVID-19 restrictions in Lyon County, but Public Health Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern says some forms of restrictions may stay in place after the county officially phases out of the regulation process.
As part of KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Friday, Millbern said she was cautiously optimistic about the county’s coronavirus caseload and recent trends that have developed — notably when it comes to declining active case numbers and a flat death rate.
Millbern says the recent spike in cases for over 20 states, including Oklahoma, is a sign the virus hasn’t gone away and can still make people extremely sick.
Millbern also says Lyon County’s non-congregate housing remains in place at Hampton Inn and La Quinta, although it’s not being used much with only two patients currently. Millbern encouraged residents needing to quarantine or isolate themselves to use the service because it will end if not utilized.
