Lots of rain chances are ahead for the KVOE listening area through the upcoming weekend.
Already, we’ve had 0.60 inches of rain at the KVOE studios from activity earlier Friday morning. The Emporia Municipal Airport is at 0.64 inches. Other totals:
*Fifth and Garfield: 0.62 inches
*Ninth and Burns: 1 inch
*10th and Weaver: 0.60 inches
*Hammond Heights: 0.75 inches
*South and Sylvan: 0.80 inches
*Allen: 0.30 inches
*Between Emporia and Plymouth: 0.90 inches
*Between Hamilton and Madison: 1 inch
*Council Grove: 0.50 inches
*Hartford: 0.50 inches
*Olpe: 1 inch
*Reading: 0.40 inches
Rain chances pick up Friday afternoon through Saturday morning and redevelop Sunday night through most of Monday. Currently, there is a marginal risk of severe weather Saturday and a slight risk Sunday, both for hail and wind. Heavy rain is also possible, with widespread totals of 2-3 inches of rain possible through the weekend.
