Lyon County has another death related to coronavirus.
Lyon County Public Health says an Hispanic man passed away. He is Lyon County’s seventh COVID-19 death and first since June 3. Further details may be announced Monday.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic came to the area in March, Lyon County has amassed 485 confirmed and probable positive cases. Four hundred forty-four patients have recovered, meaning there are 34 active cases.
Lyon County has dipped to ninth overall in Kansas for overall coronavirus cases, based on Friday’s numbers from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Shawnee County has moved past Lyon County for eighth in that category. Ford County has the most cases in Kansas at 1,916, followed by Wyandotte County with 1,872. Finney (1,515), Johnson (1,229) and Leavenworth (1,122) also have over 1,000 COVID-19 cases.

*Osage County has 10 total cases. All patients have recovered.
*Wabaunsee County has 32 cases, one of which is active.
