Emporia Police are investigating after what officers say was a cutting incident in central Emporia on Monday night.
Initially, the 911 call to the 400 block of Rural around 8:20 pm was for a stabbing. Police Sgt. DJ Dragonas says an altercation developed between two men. One pulled a knife and swiped at the other, causing a small cut on a shoulder.
The victim was taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment. Injuries are considered minor.
Word on an arrest is pending. Names have not been released at this time. Officers have not confirmed what led to the cutting incident.
