No injuries were reported following a gas leak in east Emporia Tuesday afternoon.
Emporia Fire Crews and Kansas Gas were called to the intersection of East 9th Ave and Union Street at 2:30 pm Tuesday for a gas leak in an alley adjacent to the intersection. According to Emporia Fire Batallion Chief Ryan Conley, a maintenance crew was digging in the area and struck a two-inch line resulting in the leak.
Kansas Gas was called to the scene to conduct repairs on the line. Traffic was blocked in all directions for over an hour at the intersection as crews conducted repairs.
