The Emporia Junior baseball team swept a doubleheader from Ottawa Wednesday night.
The 17s won the first game 15-5. 4 runs in the 1st inning set the tone. They ended the game with a 5 run 4th inning.
Aaron Ross was 3 for 3 with 4 RBI.
Cam Geitz was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI.
Logan Thomas and Bobby Trujillo each drove in 2 runs.
Vance Kinse was the winning pitcher.
The 17s won the 2nd game 11-3.
Emporia scored 4 runs in the 1st, added 4 runs in the 5th and ended the game with 3 runs in the 6th inning.
Logan Thomas as 3 for 4 with 3 RBI.
Vance Kinsey drove in 2 runs.
Bobby Trujillo was the winning pitcher.
The 17s have won 5 of their last 6 games and are now 8-5 for the season.
They are scheduled to host the Kansas Outlaws Sunday afternoon.
The Emporia Senior baseball team is scheduled to host Garnett Thursday evening. First pitch for game 1 of the doubleheader is set for 6pm at Sodens Grove.
