While the risk of severe weather is unwelcome, conditions are getting dry across the KVOE listening area.
The US Drought Monitor has much of the area in abnormally dry status, including the southern half of Lyon County, all of Chase County, Coffey County south of Interstate 35, the northeast half of Greenwood County and most of Morris County west of Council Grove.
The KVOE studios have received 0.90 inches of rainfall so far this month, with 0.70 inches of that amount falling June 19.
