Strong thunderstorms are possible near Emporia through the early-morning hours Saturday.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Morris and Wabaunsee counties until 4 pm. Hail up to the size of ping pong balls, or 1.5 inches in diameter, and wind gusts up to 70 mph are possible. Heavy rainfall is also possible.
