Court proceedings have now started against three people after a shooting over two weeks ago in west Emporia.
Police Sgt. Lisa Sage says William Walters, age 24 of Emporia, was arrested Monday evening. He is now formally charged with two counts of aggravated battery and single counts of aggravated burglary of a dwelling, aggravated kidnapping, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, attempted aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
On June 24, Hector Velazquez was charged with two counts of aggravated battery and single counts of aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, attempted aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
Walters and Velazquez join Edgar Gonzalez, who was charged June 16 after a 35-year-old woman was shot at 1213 Beverly on June 12. Gonzalez faces two counts of aggravated battery and a count of aggravated burglary.
