One person from Kansas City, Kansas, was hurt in a crash on the Kansas Turnpike near Emporia on Saturday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a motorcycle and SUV were both northbound in a construction zone about three miles southwest of the Emporia tollgate when the crash happened shortly before 2:30 pm. For currently unlisted reasons, the motorcycle ran into the SUV.
The motorcycle driver, 28-year-old Marcus Heard, was taken to Newman Regional Health with unspecified injuries. The driver of the SUV, 37-year-old Raymond Forbes of Kansas City, Kansas, was not hurt.
