Kansas Gas and Emporia Fire responded to a gas line puncture in an east Emporia neighborhood for the second time in three weeks.
Firefighters were dispatched to 10th and Union around 10:45 am. Battalion Chief Tony Fuller says a contract crew was working on an excavation project and hit a line less than 20 feet from a puncture incident in late June.
No injuries were reported. Emporia Fire turned the scene over to Kansas Gas after utility representatives arrived.
