A bench warrant has been issued for a woman who reached a plea agreement in a local drug distribution case that gained federal attention.
Stephanie Heffner had pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine after an incident this past October and was set for sentencing last week. She did not appear, triggering the warrant.
Heffner allegedly sold meth to one person as part of a case investigated by Emporia Police and the Homeland Security Department, based on court records provided to KVOE News.
A second distribution count was set to be dismissed as part of the agreement.
