USD 243 Lebo-Waverly has confirmed a district student has been exposed to coronavirus.
The district says the student is in quarantine. USD 243 is not offering more specifics about the patient or how he was exposed, but it is halting its summer workouts and activity schedule for at least one week.
USD 284 Chase County, meanwhile, said it is also suspending its summer activities and workouts for July 13-16 after the football team traveled to Waverly for a 5-on-5 activity Wednesday. Chase County has told its parents and patrons its students do not need to be tested at this time.
USD 456 Marais des Cygnes Valley is also suspending summer activities and workouts through Thursday. It says it was made aware of several students who were exposed to a person outside the district who later tested positive. The potentially exposed students then attended two sets of conditioning activities last week.
USD 434 Santa Fe Trail has postponed junior high football practice this week, giving no reasons for why it is taking that step.
