Isolated severe weather is possible but unlikely Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
The Storm Prediction Center has posted a marginal severe weather risk for Lyon and surrounding counties through the late-night hours. Hail and high winds are the main concerns.
The low-end risk of severe weather will develop shortly after a heat advisory ends for Lyon and most surrounding counties at 8 pm. Heat index readings in Emporia have been as high as 103 degrees Tuesday afternoon, reflecting air temperatures in the low 90s and dewpoints in the mid-70s.
