If you like to use the Lyon County Courthouse to vote ahead of the primary election, your time is at hand.
In-office advance voting began Monday morning. On KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 segment Monday, County Clerk Tammy Vopat said the process will be easy for voters.
Vopat also referenced the massive amount of mail ballots sent out last week. If people haven’t received those ballots yet, Vopat says it’s best to wait until the middle to late part of this week before calling. She also urged residents to be sure of how they plan to vote before mailing it in because any changes will need a provisional ballot and more paperwork.
Advance voting ends at noon Aug. 3 before the primary election Aug. 4. Vopat says mask use is strongly encouraged but people will not be turned away from the Courthouse or polling places if they decide not to wear masks.
