The Flint Hills has been a focal point for isolated severe weather activity and a lot of rainfall Monday night.
Active warnings
*Northeast Lyon, central Osage counties: Severe thunderstorm warning until 10:30 pm. Main concerns are 60 mph winds and quarter-sized hail
Central Lyon County, including Emporia, Americus and Reading, was in a severe thunderstorm warning as well.
There have been some severe weather or notable weather reports with the storm activity.
Hail
Americus reported hail the size of quarters to ping pong balls, or 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
Wind
*The National Weather Service reported a 61-mph gust at what it calls an airport observation station for Emporia.
*Elmdale had a wind gust of 51 mph
*The Reading area had an estimated 60 mph gust
Rain
*KVOE studios: 0.50 inches
*Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.65 inches
*Americus: 1 inch
Power outages
*Emporia currently has six separate outages, five of which are south of Sixth Avenue and between Lawrence and Peyton. The sixth is near Dryer Park. Nearly 75 customers are offline
*Isolated small outages are underway in Reading, outside Waverly and west of Madison.
Heavy rainfall may redevelop early Tuesday with another batch of thunderstorms. Flooding is a concern if that activity develops as expected.

9 pm Monday: Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Emporia, central Lyon County
An expanding cluster of thunderstorms has triggered a severe thunderstorm warning for the immediate Emporia area.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central Lyon County, including Emporia, Americus and Reading, until 9:45 pm. The main concerns are 60-mph winds, heavy rain and frequent lightning.
There has been a 61-mph wind gust reported by what the National Weather Service calls an airport observation station.
