It was a rough Tuesday afternoon for the Kansas City Royals. They were out scored by the Houston Astros 15-6.
The Royals scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning to tie the game at 3. The rest of the day it was all Astros. The Astros hit 5 home runs off of Royals pitching.
Wednesday the Royals play at St. Louis with first pitch at 3pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM. Its the final exhibition game for the Royal before they open the season at Cleveland Friday night.
To no real surprise, Royals manager Mike Matheny said that right-hander Brad Keller, last year’s Opening Day starter, would not be ready to be on the Opening Day roster.
Keller had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in Summer Camp, and he was just cleared to resume baseball activities on Friday. He threw a 30-pitch bullpen session that morning.
But Keller likely wasn’t going to be stretched out enough to return to the rotation for more than a week.
