With the Kansas State Board of Education not approving the governors executive order to begin school after labor day, the decision about when fall athletics and activities can begin is now up to the Kansas State High School Activities Association.
Executive Director Bill Faflick, during a special meeting Wednesday, said there is a lot to consider.
KSHSAA voted to delay a decision on when fall sports will start and plans to survey school superintendents before meeting again early next week.
The Activities Association was set to release their recommendations last Friday for the start of practices for August 17th. When Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced her plan to issue an executive order to delay the start of the school year that plan was put on hold.
