An Emporia man stands to spend up to 14 years in prison, even though he won’t be convicted on the original charge of rape.
German Diaz, 19, entered into a plea agreement Thursday by pleading to a count of aggravated kidnapping against a 13-year-old. Diaz had been originally charged with rape following an incident in January.
Sentencing is Sept. 9. Diaz could get 12-14 years in prison.
