Street work is coming soon for a south Emporia street damaged by a weekend water main break.
A line broke on Union Street just south of the Norton Street intersection and was reported around 10 am Saturday. Emporia Public Works crews have done an initial excavation to get to the leak and repair it, although some seepage was noted at the intersection Sunday morning.
There is a short one-lane traffic area around the work zone. Public Works has not confirmed the size of the line, the nature of the break, number of customers affected or the timetable for street repairs.
