Emporia Fire Crews responded to an early morning structure fire that severely damaged a residence in east Emporia Wednesday morning.
Crews were called out for a reported structure fire in a trailer home located across the street from 341 Eveningside Drive shortly before 1 am. Batallion Chief Tony Fuller tells KVOE News the residence was fully engulfed in flames upon crews’ arrival.
Firefighters managed to subdue the flames quickly, however, the fire led to extensive damage on the front side of the home. No occupants were inside the residence at the time of the fire.
The residence was in close proximity to other homes, however, fire crews managed to contain the fire before it could spread.
The cause of the fire is undetermined following an investigation by Emporia Fire.
