A late rally came up short for the Kansas City Royals in a 5-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs Tuesday night.
The Cubs hit 3 home runs while building a 5-2 lead going to the 9th inning. The Royals scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th and had the tying run at 3rd base. Brady Singer took the loss giving up 4 runs on 5 hits and struck out 8. Royals Manager Mike Matheney liked the way they kept battling.
The Royals and Cubs play again Wednesday night, this time they are in Kansas City. Kris Bubic makes the start for the Royals with first pitch set for 7:05p. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 6:30p
