No change has occurred in terms of the leaders for the Lyon County Commission races since Tuesday.
After the second day of mail ballot-only counting, Third District incumbent Rollie Martin gained 1 additional vote and now has 469 total. Chris Bartel added two votes while Jarom Smith gained no new votes. Bartel now stands at 294, while Smith remains at 281.
In the Second District race, Doug Peck added three votes and now has 900. Phil Mott also added three votes and now has 448. Robert McClelland’s total increased by four and now stands at 412.
With a hefty amount of mail ballots, votes are counted as valid if they had a postmark no later than Tuesday and are returned to the County Courthouse no later than Friday. Ballots that meet those two criteria will be considered during the official vote canvass Monday morning.
