A hearing for a man accused of trying to rob an Emporia motel early this year has been continued to next month.
Jeremy Spicer was supposed to be in Lyon County District Court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing after he allegedly tried to get into the cash register at Econo Lodge Hotel, 2511, West 18, and also acted in an allegedly suspicious manner with the hotel clerk afterward before allegedly telling the clerk to put money on the counter.
Spicer, 19, is accused of attempted aggravated robbery and making false after the Jan. 7 incident. His preliminary hearing has been reset to Sept. 9.
