One person was hurt in a crash in northwest Lyon County on Saturday, but the situation could have turned out worse than it did.
Lyon County deputies, Kansas Highway Patrol troopers and Emporia/Lyon County EMS responded to US Highway 56 just east of Road F, less than a mile north of Bushong and about 17 miles northwest of Emporia, around 12:45 pm after a vehicle crash. Authorities found the vehicle in a ditch on the south side of the highway.
One man inside was taken to Newman Regional Health for observation. Deputies on scene say injuries were apparently minor.
Deputies will release more information once their investigation is complete.
