Flood warnings for Chase and Morris county residents did not lead to any flood reports Thursday.
Both the Chase and Morris County Sheriff’s Offices reported no issues after moderate to heavy rainfall covered both counties for several hours early Thursday. That included the dam at Chase State Fishing Lake, which had some topsoil break free after heavy rainfall July 30-31. No leakage was noticed at that time and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism has been monitoring the dam for any signs of concern as it formulates an action plan for the lake.
Rain totals were isolated Thursday. In Chase County, Wonsevu had 1.72 inches. Saffordville got 1.1 inches of rain, while Lake Kahola got 0.60 inches. In Morris County, White City had 2 inches and Wilsey had 1.92 inches.
