There’s not much time for back-to-school preparations for most school district administrators, parents or students. In other cases, though, area schools have launched into their fall semesters.
School will start over the next two weeks in most area districts:
*Monday: USD 245 Southern Coffey County
*Tuesday: USD 252 Southern Lyon County, USD 390 Hamilton
*Thursday: Emporia Christian School, USD 251 North Lyon County, USD 243 Lebo-Waverly, USD 284 Chase County
*Sept. 1: USD 417 Morris County
*Sept. 2: USD 253 Emporia, Sacred Heart Elementary
Several area districts have already started. USD 456 Marais des Cygnes started this past Wednesday. USD 386 Madison-Virgil and USD 421 Lyndon started this past Thursday, while USD 244 Burlington, USD 389 Eureka and USD 420 Osage County started Friday.
KVOE News will have updates from area superintendents throughout the fall semester, especially given the raft of adjustments this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. USD 421 Lyndon Superintendent Brad Marcotte joins KVOE’s Newsmaker 3 segment at 8:40 am Tuesday, while USD 386 Madison-Virgil Superintendent Stu Moeckel is on Wednesday’s Newsmaker 3 segment.
