Construction and rehabilitation work of Newman Regional Health’s facilities have either been restarted entered the beginning stages in recent weeks.
Newman CEO Bob Wright updated the progress of construction work during KVOE’s morning show last week. According to Wright the hospital’s renovation of the former emergency room into physical therapy center was set back significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thankfully, Wright says work resumed on the space just recently.
Wright also mentioned the hospital received additional good news this past week with the hiring of a new general cardiologist. He says the new hiring will require the hospital to expand its cardiac clinic located on the second floor of the Medical Arts Building.
The expansion will provide additional exam rooms to accommodate all three physicians currently working in that department. Wright anticipates that project to begin within the next two months at the latest.
The work doesn’t end there, thanks to a generous allocation from the Lyon County Commission, the hospital will be conducting several roof repairs in the coming months.
Wright tells KVOE News the roof repair work has been delayed for roughly a year. For more information on Newman Regional Health visit Newmanrh.org or call 620-343-6800.
