Flint Hills Technical College has confirmed a coronavirus case in a student.
Vice President for Student Services Lisa Kirmer says the case developed late last week. She tells KVOE News the student was exposed to the virus while away from the college.
Seven students have been quarantined for being in close contact. Kirmer says the situation is limited to students at this time.
Kirmer says the college is taking all necessary steps to limit COVID-19’s spread on campus. Mask use is mandatory for students and staff as well as social distancing, and Kirmer says daily temperature questionnaires are part of the routine.
Emporia State University has three confirmed cases at this time. One is being isolated on campus. Five are currently being quarantined.
