Longtime Emporia auctioneer Gail Hancock has passed away.
Hancock was 75 when he died Aug. 19 in Topeka.
Hancock was born in Emporia. After graduating high school, he attended Friends Bible College, Kansas State University, Kansas State Teachers College, World Wide College of Auctioneering and Indiana University’s Auctioneers Institute before becoming a realtor. He owned Flint Hills Auction and co-owned Precious Treasures with his wife, Pauleen.
Hancock is survived by his wife, one son, two sisters and two brothers. A private graveside service was held Tuesday at Hillside Cemetery in Toledo.
