The Kansas Turnpike Authority has closed a fire gate between the Emporia service area and the Admire exit.
The gate at mile marker 140 is being closed so crews can replace a culvert. The closure could last into Friday.
Work also continues on several improvements on the Turnpike in Lyon and Chase counties, including expansion joint replacements, ramp and parking improvements at the Emporia service area, drainage improvements, pavement mill and inlay, bridge redecking, culvert reinforcement and power line improvements.
