Court proceedings have started against an Osage City man who allegedly led a chase in the town and briefly escaped law enforcement earlier this month.
Howard Beau Drew, 38, appeared in Osage County District Court on Thursday. He’s charged with flee and elude, possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and related traffic violations after an incident Aug. 12.
Drew was allegedly driving an SUV stolen from Kansas City, Kansas when he was spotted by an Osage City police officer. He then allegedly led a pursuit that ended with a crash in the 800 block of Market in Osage City. Drew escaped on foot but was arrested three days later.
